I heard this simplistic and yet profound quote the other day. “If you want the rainbow you have to take the rain”. This quote can fit all of us on the planet in one way or another at some point in our lives. We all want to experience that beautiful rainbow that symbolizes hope. We eagerly await it after a storm. But to do this we need to experience the rain which can symbolize the pain in our lives. It’s such a beautiful metaphor for life in this place we call home. Its having faith in the hope this rainbow brings that helps us to endure the rain. Faith in life is so important, no actually its critical to our survival in this world. Their is so much suffering. It takes on so many forms and it comes from all directions. It can over take us if we let it. Faith allows us the opportunity to breathe through the storm. Did you know the Bible, which is Gods own word, has defined faith so beautifully? In Hebrews 11:1 it says, “Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld”. In other words, it is believing in something so strongly as if it as already happened. Sometimes the rain, or the storm, is so violent that it tries to break us. Often times it blocks out our faith. The key is building this faith so deeply within ourselves that it becomes who we are. If we believe in ourselves even the most severe storm or difficulty in our life can not destroy us.
I say to all who read this, “KEEP THE FAITH”.
